cheap Alaska cabin or cottage rental?

Me and my friends are planning a trip to Alaska next summer for about a month. We are willing to just camp if necessary but would prefer to rent out a small cabin or something. Everything I have found on the internet is so fancy and expensive. We just need something small and basic and most importantly cheap. Ideas?

1. About the cheapest you will find is the BLM (Bureau of Land Management). They have cabins for rent throughout Alaska. The fees range from about $20 to $50 a night. The downfall is that there are usually limitations as to how long you can rent them for. Some sites you can only rent for 3 days at a time. Other places I believe you can go as long as a week or two.

You won't be able to rent a cabin for the entire time, but this might help you find a few during your vacation.
