Alaska Fishing. When is the best month? Don't care what kind, as long as we catch something and see sights.
Will fly into Anchorage and stay with my parents there and also my grandparents in Seward so can fish anywhere around there.

1. may-august!
2. I would pick August as the salmon runs are going strong then and the halibut fishing is also good at that time. Plus it’s still nice and warm out. September is also a good month as you can gather clams and other shell fish then as well.
3. August-Sept During that time you have a chance to catch 4 different species of Salmon. Sockeye, Chinook, Pink, Coho. The Chum show up sometimes in Oct.-Nov.. Ling Cod and Halibut can be caught jigging or using spreader bars with octopus or herring. You might try your luck at some Steel-head Trout also. During this time you should see Killer whales and plenty of Stellar Sea Lions. 40yr exp Northwest Pacific Guide
4. Safe in sayin' that any month be o.k., in Alaska (have ta' keep in mind the weather conditions) ~ I lived there. There be species of fish that you'll find year round fishin' freshwater, Grayling (found mainly in the Interior of the state ie., Anchorage, etc., etc.), Rainbow Trout aka Steelhead, Pike, along with Arctic Char. Saltwater be good year round also (if fishin' from a boat), Salmon, Halibut, Ling & Rock Cod ta' name but a few. Link below, will give ya' a BASIC run down on what I've conveyed, along with other pertinent information on AK.. Have a great and safe trip, watch it though ya' may find yourself not wantin' to return to the "Lower 48" ;) ;) ;). Alaska, The Last Frontier" ~ that what it be ;)...

5. Fishsteelhead is right on the mark here. You can catch fish about anytime of the year here, even if everything is frozen solid you can ice fish.
But the fall is my favorite time. The above answers explain why.
6. How about fly fishing its good for that?
